This is a short course that takes about 4 hours to walk, with Furuichi Station at the core. This is a packed course where you can enjoy takeout food, lunch, and sweets while feeling a sense of history with haniwa (clay image) and kofun around you. Enjoy a trip to Habikino through walking.

This is the much-talked-about bagel specialty shop that opened in 2021!
The warm, wooden display at the store is lined with bagels and bagel sandwiches that are the pride of this store. There are about 16 kinds of delicious bagels, so you just might not know what to order. The most popular bagel is the Soboro and Aojiso Bagel (seasoned ground meat with green perilla).
The popular items on the menu sell out in the morning, so you would be lucky if you could purchase one. If you get a bagel to go for your trip, it will be a great start to your journey.

In the reference room established in 2015 for the registration of the Furuichi Kofun Group as a World Heritage Site, you can see precious haniwa and burial accessories excavated from the Furuichi Kofun Group up close. There are more than 100 of them! It is a special spot with so many haniwa, something you don't see every day.

Kawachi Konda Haniwa-no Sato Okuraya
Kawachikonda Haniwa-no Sato Okuraya
After seeing an enchanting haniwa, try making your own haniwa! Haniwa-making has been popular here in Konda, Kawachi since the Kofun period around 1,600 years ago, with plenty of haniwa being excavated from nearby burial mounds. At Kawachikonda Haniwa-no Sato Okuraya, you can make your very own haniwa, the only one in the world, using clay.

If you walk through Takenouchi-kaido Road, which has been certified as a Japanese heritage site for being the oldest national highway in Japan and which features an enchanting streets, you will see Hakuchoryo Kofun that is a part of the World Heritage Site, Furuichi Kofun Group. Believed to be the burial mound of Yamato Takeru no Mikoto, it is also home to the Swan Legend which says that Yamato Takeru no Mikoto transformed into a swan and flew to this area. The appearance of the swan flying high in the sky is said to be like "pulling feather."
