Back in the Kofun period, which dates back 1,600 years, haniwa-making was popular here in Konda, Kawachi, and many Haniwa have been excavated from nearby burial mounds.
"Kawachi Konda Haniwa-no Sato Okuraya" is located in the center of the Furuichi Burial Mounds, which is registered as a World Heritage Site, and you can experience making haniwa using clay. There is no doubt that you will be immersed in the work by kneading, sticking, and working like a child!
After the experience, you can enjoy Haniwa bento (reservation required) and shopping for unique burial mound goods.
